Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)
No, I don't know why :( However, with more information we might be able to
help. Try creating a new file with a few tasks and resources. Do what you
did before and see if you get the same results. As Duration = Work X Units,
you cannot have a change to one without one of the other parameters
changing. Unless, somehow, there is some corruption. I hope you have kept
backups of the originals. Try renaming one of them and see if you still
have problems. Give us an example of what the task parameters were before
and after. That'll do for the moment!
