Hi eveybody
I'm not a project manager but a line manager. In this functions, the
project managers request resources for me for their various projects.
So on one hand I have to make sure, that I have enough resources
available for all the projects and on the other hand, that all my
resource have enough work assigned.
So in MS project, I don't want to do a planning on task level. Each
project may just be respresented by 1 task or maybe if it has several
workstreams, by a few tasks.
I've already found out, that the interesting views for me are the
Task Usage View and the Resource Usage View. In the Task Usage View,
I can easily verify how many resources I have assigned to the
different projects, in the Resource Usage View, I can check if I have
under or over allocated resources.
MS Project also marks over allocated resources in red.
And that's exactly, where I'm looking for improvement. I'd like to
have kind of the possibility to change the format of single cells
similar to Excel. If a resources is underalocated in a certain week,
I'd like to color the cell with another color and so on.
Any change to achieve that? Maybe at least with VBA?
Cheers
Claudio
