Hi Steve,
You may want to take a look at the macros posted by Project MVP Jack
Dahlgren at:
http://masamiki.com/project/macros.htm
I believe the "Trace" macro will do as you describe.
I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

I have a large project with many linked tasks driving the effort. I'm
killing myself scrolling up and down the screen. What I want to build
is a
filter or macro that will produce a filtered view of the active task
and only
the immediate linked predecessors and successors of that task. I
would
appreciate some guidance. Thanks,
Steve
