File Won't Open

Hello!
I’ve been working on a project file (2003) for a couple of months and one
day I was making a huge update of dates, inserting files, etc. and that day
the program crashed along with every other program that was opened. I’m not
sure if the file got corrupted by files I was inserting or if there is a
maximum file size limit and I exceeded it. The file is 60.8 MB. After that I
haven't been able to open the file again.
This is the error message I get when I attempt to open my file:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Project cannot open the file.
• Check that the file name and path are correct.
• Check that the file format is recognized by project.
Project files saved in a version earlier than Microsoft Project 98 can’t be
opened.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is there anything I can do to recover this file?
Thanks in advance!
Mari
