Thank you both for answering. Gerard - I've tried to "uncorrupt" the file
using numerious methods and none has helped.

Joe, the error I'm encountering happens in both 2003 and 2000. It's
probably the same error as yours. The only way I've found to correct it is
to recreate the schedule. Open a blank file and copy the old data to the
blank file. I hesitate to do this because it's a lot of data to reconstruct.
 We all know that copy/pasting Project files can become sticky. If I find
another way to repair the file I'll definitely let you know.
