First go to Tools/Options View tab and select a Date Format that
includes time. Now when you enter a task Start date, you can also set
the hours and minutes. However, the idea of Project is not to manually
set Start and Finish times for tasks - it sets constraints and defeats
the purpose of using Project. Normally the Project Start date (and time
if desired) is set in Project/Project Information. The first task will
automatically start on the day and time. From then on, the Duration of a
task (can be minutes, hours, days, etc.) determines its Finish date and
linkages between tasks throughout the project plan sets all the
remaining Start and Finish dates. In some cases, it may be necessary to
directly enter the Start date for a particular task that is not
dependent on another task.
