Apologies for the long post, but I needed to explain the
steps I took.

I have been playing around with priorities in MS Project
2002 and noticed the following:

A)I compiled a simple plan "Plan A" (10 tasks) with the
project priority at 500 (the default).

B)I then compiled another simple plan "Plan B" (10 tasks
as well) using the same resource pool with the same
resources also with the priority at 500. MS Project
leveled these as expected i.e. Plan A's tasks were
scheduled first and then Plan B's tasks.

C)I then closed these plans and opened only "Plan B" with
the resource pool. I then set the priority (under Project
Information) of Plan B to 600 and when I re-leveled this
plan, MS Project did not do anything to the tasks. It
should have scheduled all Plan B's tasks before Plan A's
unfinished tasks per resource since Plan A has a lower
priority than Plan B.

D)However if you have Plan A open when re-leveling Plan
B, the tasks in Plan B are scheduled before Plan A's
tasks which is what should have happened.

What concerns me is that this implies that you need to
have all plans open that are sharing the resource pool in
order for priorities to function correctly. Am I missing
something here?
