MSP_WEB_ASSIGNMENT

Hi,
In one of the projects many assignments were removed, but
they still are in database in MSP_WEB_ASSIGNMENT.
I would not care but there are really a lot of them.
Is it safe to remove these assignments directly from
MSP_WEB_ASSIGNMENT table ?
I need to remove a specific resource assignments in
specific project. Is there any other way ?
