....and another question, Werner.
I've been looking at prices, and the two handhelds that you mention are a
little beyond my budget. I am now contemplating the HP iPaq 111 Classic.
Basically, an essential function for my PDA, whichever one it is (until now
it's been a Palm Zire 72) is to be able to sync all of my Outlook 2003
abundant data with the handheld. I have several folders and subfolders in
both Calendars and Contacts (one of these subfolders in Calendars has over
7,000 records,) and I need to make sure that all that data crosses over
complete (i.e., no data truncation) and differentiated (i.e. different
subfolders must be kept separate) from Outlook 2003 in my PC onto the PDA,
and vice versa.
So far, the Zire 72 has been able to do this. Will the iPaq 111 Classic do
it as well?
Thank you again.

Well, if you're looking for a non-phone PDA, I can recommend either the HP.
iPAQ hx4700 (with the WM6.1 upgrade) or the new HP iPAQ 210. Both are VGA
and, generally, pretty good. I can't state which one iss the better: they
both have advantages and disadvantages. See my iPAQ 210 review, where I've
thoroughly compared the iPAQ 210 to the other.

I have been syncing my Palm Zire 72 to my Outlook 2003 on my Windows XP PC
for years now. The Zire 72 battery is dying on me, so it's time to buy a
new
PDA. The Palm TX looks like a good replacement, but I am also wondering
about
Windows-based brands such as the Pharos, etc.
For the record, I have a lot of data in my Outlook 2003, with more than
one
Calendars folder and more than one Contacts folder. I don't need my new
PDA
to be a cell phone as well. Wi-Fi connectivity is welcome, but not
necessary.
Mp3 reproduction a must.
Any suggestions? Should I abandon Palm after several years and move on to
a
different platform?
