Does anybody know how to use socksv5 proxy on ppc ?

I want to ssh my server on the go, but the server must be connected using a
socksv5 proxy.
Is it possible to set up an socks5 proxy in connection setting ? I saw
"socks5" in it, but I don't know how it works.
