Hello,
I was using with success TomTom GPS software on Ipaq 4700. Now I
installed it on Ipaq 211 and here is what happens:
When I start TomTom the backlight of the screen is turned off - I can
barely see the display. When I connect it to an external power supply
backlight is turned on and stays on even after I disconned external
power supply.
Ipaq is setup to turn off backlight if device is not used to 5
minutes.
Did anyone ever have this problem?
Thanks,
Zalek
Yes, I saw this as well but it is fixed in a later TomTom version
(6.2?)
However I find I cannot use TomTom with my iPaq 214 in reality at all!
When stationary everything works (including the route demo) however
when traveling after about 20 seconds either the screen stops updating
altogether or the indicated position is not the right place on the
map. Tapping to move to a menu screen and then going back to the map
corrects this for another 20 seconds or so then it goes wrong again.
This is with a CF GPS.
I've tried Destinator as an alternative but have an issue with this in
that it sets the system time incorrectly (some 18 months in the
future). Other than that it works OK.
For now I've gone back to the Loox 720 for GPS use.
