Thanks Todd. Yes, of course, that makes perfect sense! I haven't got
around to re-installing those 30-40 progs on my new PC. Still
ploughing through installing the 150 or so *PC* programs!


Frankly, I don't bother reinstalling my PPC programs when I change/upgrade PCs, unless there's a PC-based component to the program (like the file converter in Adobe Reader.) I generally just copy the .cab file installed on the (old) PC to a folder on the new (called something clever like "Important PPC CABs") so I can copy the .cabs to the PPC via a card reader when/if needed, and bypass the Activesync/WMDC "add programs" function. (The most important cabs I permanently keep on my PPC's storage card marked as read-only for quick reinstallation in case of a total disaster while away from my PC.)
