Re: Sound from PC to Pocket PC

I also have www.logmein.com pro which works just great, but thier
product does not send sound.

As has also been explained in my Remote Desktop Access Bible (
http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=1571&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1 )
, the all-in-one resource of answers to all these questions, it's currently
only the WM6 client (RDM), which can also be installed under WM5, that can
transfer the sound from the desktop to the handheld.

However, it's certainly an overkill and there are tons of alternate
solutions; for example, SHOUTcast, should you not manage to make the WME
connection work. See my related tutorial in, say, my Radio Stream
Transcoding Bible at
http://www.pocketpcmag.com/blogs/index.php?blog=3&p=2399&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1#more2399

Nevertheless, I'd certainly try WME once more so that you don't need to
install SHOUTcast. I've successfully streamed from my home WME server to my
PDA several times, independent of the network topology.

Hi All. I have researched this topic to death, and on a few times came
pretty close to success. What I would like to accomplish is get my
PC's sounds to my Tilt. I do not mean my music and movies, I can do
that just fine with Orb. What I would like is something that brings
all sounds on my PC to my Tilt. I tried Windows Media Encoder and got
it to work, to my laptop and other computers, but I can not pick up
the stream with my Tilt, not in the WMP I get a bad parameter error. I
tried at least 4 other audio streaming programs to pick up that stream
from my Windows Media Encoder, no luck.

I also have www.logmein.com pro which works just great, but thier
product does not send sound.

So, I have decided to ask the community here if anyone has
successfully brought "What you hear" sounds from your home computer to
your Pocket PC. (I have a mac at home too maybe that has a solution,)
seems like it should be kind of easy, but for me it is not.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is the fine ability I
would like on mt Tilt for it to be the ideal item for me.

Thanks so much!

-Matthew
