Re: Is there any way to transfer/reconstruct data from SD card for Outlook to pick up

The easiest thing would be to get your X50V running again. I would pull the SD card out, until you can get the PPC going.

I don't have great expectations of accomplishing this. However, I would be willing to acquire another one.

I was of the impression that Dell was no longer in the PDA business; however, I went looking to see if they might still have some lying around. My first hit tended to indicate that they are still selling PDAs. Haven't finished my search yet. Anyone else know what the situation is?

Many of the PPCs on the market will not charge the battery if the voltage drops too low. If you have a voltmeter you could check the battery. It should be above 3.0 volts. Last week a user on this board had a similar problem with his iPaq 5550. You might try connecting the charger directly to the battery for just a minute or two to get the voltage back up. Make sure you connect the + to the + and the - to the -.

Don't really understand what you are trying to say here. I use two batteries. One is always on charge in the charger. Seldom, if ever, put PDA on cradle to charge a battery, only to sync. Have never had a battery problem.

I tried a fully charged battery after the problem began. Right now there are no visible 'screens'; not even those screens associated with rebooting.

I've had a catastrophic failure of my Dell Axim X50v. Been using it since it came on the market.

It hung up and I have been unable to reboot, even a complete reboot (pwr switch + reset). I've gotten various screens along the way, such as how to boot in safe mode (click screen or push button) and instructions as to how to continue with complete reboot. I was unable to complete either task.

I was never completely successful synching my Notes to the desktop. However, I did do regular complete backups to the SD card.

Is there any way to recover the notes from SD card, after moving the file to my desktop?

TIA
