Correct Ed,
there is no such registry key. I just described the situation on the screen
since I thought it may be related.
BTW- I noticed that there is no application associated with files with
extension .att - can this be an issue (since even if attachments get saved on
the Storage Card then how can they be used)
Maybe this is the issue?
BTW- the link with the original message does not show the attachment
(explicitly) or their name. It is a general link that says Download rest of
the message and attachments next time you perform Send/Receive.
But- maybe the .att extension association is the issue- can that be?
Thanks

Hi,
I did try soft reset - but this did not fix the problem.
Well, I'm out of ideas. I think you've already set up a new inbox
and tried that, so it isn't an individual inbox correction. I
suspect it is some sort of database corruption. I can't imagine
there is a registry key that says "show the user an attachment
needs to be downloaded, but hide the attachment when it is
downloaded, and corrupt a few other lines in the email header."
I'd be inclined to try a hard reset at this point. :-(

Soft reset. Theory being just to clear memory.

Do you mean soft reset or a hard one???
Also, I noted that the words From and Subject are not displayed on my
Messaging screen that displays the message (the other titles like To CC are
displayed). I just have the values of the Subject and From fields displayed.
This may be related to the disappearance of the attachments
hyperlinks/strings on the same screen.

I've seen this on an iPaq PPC and a reset cures all. Seems to me it's a
memory-related issue, maybe a leak.

Nope,
I am not storing the attachments on the storage card. I have attempted this
scheme as well at some stage, but it did no good. The attachments are simply
hidden somehow (I checked pixel by pixel below the subject and nada...).
I fear that we need a Messaging geek or programmer to get some progress
here. Only then we'll be able to guess the reason for that weired behavior. I
start to get the feeling I have a "collectors' item" type of problem...
Let's keep trying...

Hi Ed, and thanks for helping,
I have tried two POP accounts (Optonline and Gmail). If you know of any POP
account that works and that is free to open an account I can try that as well.
It definitely works in GMail as I use that in POP3. I had a K-Jam
with WM5 in fact.
Are you storing the attachments on a storage card? If so, try
unchecking that setting.
Under my subject line there is no attachment indication.
I have the feeling that some registry key (controling the handling or
display of the attachments for the Messaging appliaction) has been somehow
corrupted or overwritten. Or maybe it is something else...?
Let me know what you suggest next.

Hi there,
I own a K-Jam running WM 5.0.
Through the Messaging application, and POP3 account I download messages that
have attachments. Iinitially I see no indication of the attachment other then
the link to download the rest of the message and the attachments on the next
Send Receive.
When I click on the link and perform the next Send/Receive I otice
(according to the download time, and the new message size) that the
attachment has been downloade but I still CANNOT see any attachment (no
attachment file name appears anywhere on the message).
Does anyone have any idea?
Any idea would be appreciated,
The attachment info should be at the top of the message just
below the subject, and before the message. It won't appear
inline.
Have you tried different POP accoutns? It could be something odd
in the way your ISP formats the message before delivering it to
your account and the messaging app can't decode it properly.
