Ok... one point we aged mvp's have learned... you can't fight city hall, so, in cases such as this one, it's time to find a back door.
imho, the best solution is to set your voice recorder properties so that voice notes are stored separately to a storage card rather than main memory... which removes them from the sync process and maintains them as ..wav files on the card... _IF_ you are not embedding them within notes (.pwi) files.
That set up, when it comes transcription time, memory card in a card reader and a shortcut to open the wave folder on the card to click and transcribe away.
You can also use a file sync program to sync the wav files to the pc for access when the card is back in the ppc.
the above also opens the possibility of using a third party voice recorder to do and manage the recordings.
