Re: bluetooth

fwiw, I have the microsoft bluetooth wireless optical desktop and it's excellent for presentations and other situations such as passing the keyboard and mouse around during meetings or lessons although what others have mentioned (that it's not ppc compatible) is unfortunate.

conversely, I have found that ppc bluetooth keyboards such as the stowaway seem to be compatible with XP desk and laptop computers

generic wireless range is not as great as bluetooth in my experience

You might also look at the media center ir wireless keyboard which has a built in joystick mouse... it's range is 30' but it is "line of sight" to a usb ir dongle which can be positioned for good reception.

What's the issue with drivers not loading until windows is up? (dos presentations?) If you are concerned about logging in, the BT KB and mouse are initially inoperative when windows login screen but moving the mouse and pressing the cursor arrow a couple of times is sufficient to trigger the association so it's fully usable. Our audio/video box uses only the bt and ir keyboard... no ps2 connection is used and other than the few second delay on boot to login, it's not an issue.

Tip... left/right click on the mouse is sufficient for many uses such as irfanview or powerpoint slide shows.
