I would say that you have a card that had a problem. I have had cards
that had a single memory issue, and after formatting they provided years
of solid service. As to the cause I suspected physical card connection
issue, but could not prove or re-create it. Just make sure to keep an
occasional backup if it is irreplaceable data.
If it happens again I would blame the card and replace it, or at least
use it somewhere else than the device where it serves a convenience and
not a need.

So what you are saying is that the replacement card should work and
the problem shouldn't re-occur. I hope so. I am thinking of a
regular schedule of copying and formatting might help if it is a
corruption issue but I don't know.
I have a Transcend 4GB, I do not believe it is SDHC. Any other
advice?
