Hi,
I have my WM5 device with wifi and 3g. The 3G connection is marked as
the Internet connection, and at work, the wifi is marked as the Work
connection.
I can surf the web via 3G and access the network shares via Work.
However, if i want to access a website, or download etc, via the work
wifi connection, it's like beating my head against a tractor. No
matter what I do the WM5 device insists on access the internet via 3G.
This eats my allowance and also is very slow compared to the wifi.
The only soltuion i have found is to mark the office connection as
Internet, but that then means that I cant access the office shares.
Is there a better solution? Ideally I would be happy to have pocketIE
prompt me whcih connection to use, like is done on my E61 (though
clearly thats not WM5).
Just a thought but this is similar to a problem I was having with wifi/gprs the other day.
You can set the default connection for different types of programs in the connection manager.
Go to settings then connections tab, then tap on connections icon, then click the advanced tab.
Then there is a bit for "select which networks are automatically used", tap on select networks and have a look in there for the options for each connection.
.
