Battery IPAQ Extension !

I have an IPAQ 3950 with the jacket extension.
The IPAQ works fine without extension but if I try to recharge the
extension battery it seems it s recharging as the status bar goes
from 0 to 100 but ... the recharging is always 0% !!!
Any idea ?
