Yep, I'm pretty certain you're right, my Cert name needs to match the
address typed into IE, in other words the public ip address, not the
local server name. I'll check out dyndns.org and see what I can do
there. Thanks for your help...

Sounds to me though that it is a problem that you are connecting to your
public IP address and the certificate common name is your local hostname. I
might try to use a free dynamic DNS service like dyndns.org to create a
public hostname "[yourname].dyndns.org" then create a new self-signed
certificate using that address. I don't know if that is actually possible,
but it might be worth a shot.
