Re: What Does Vista Sync To?

Same thing AS does without Outlook. As you said, sync files, media, support program installation. No backup, just as AS now has no backup. Browsing files and copying them you can actually do in Vista without WMDC.

I have a HTC TyTN and sync to Outlook. I have Vista Home Premium on Order (Should be here tomorrow!) Does the new Windows Mobile Device Centre sync with the new Windows Calendar and Windows Email or will I still need Outlook?

Unfortunately under Vista the mobile device centre does not synch with the calendar or windows mail, you would still have to use Outlook if you wanted that feature.
However I have been in touch with the people who make the mobile device centre and they assure me that integration with calendar and windows mail is something which they are looking into doing as an update.
Ok - thanks - I don't suppose a time scale was mentioned was it?

Can you import your Outlook Calendar and Contacts into the Vista Calendar and Email programmes?

Something else I should mention, Vista does not come with windows mobile desktop installed. It has the sync centre which is as useful as a chocolate teapot, do not confuse the two. You need to download and install the device centre seperately.

Already downloaded it ready for the great day!

Just a thought what does Mobile Device Centre do then without Outlook if it can't sync. Backup? Copy files across?
