Window Mobile 5 and AS v4.x Questions

I'm a former HP iPAQ 6515 w/ WM2003 user who just upgraded to a new HP
iPAQ 6925 device and WM5.
1.) WM5 is real annonying with the Windows staying open. Is there any
*native* way in WM5 to enforce the Windows to close rather than stay in
memory?
2.) I noticed there is no longer a backup program in AS v4.1 like v3.8
did have. I'm looking for an alternative to backing up my files. Has
anyone tried to use MS Backup to backup the mini-SD card contents while
it is attached to an PC w/ XP os and via USB or cradle with this or any
other backup s/w? Will the backup s/w see the mini-SD as an attached
drive letter or folder?
3.) I'm wondering the impact that programs stored to main memory has on
the PPC system performace. It seems as though half the memory on my HP
iPAQ 6925 is dedicated to storage, the other half programs. I've in the
past been reluctant to install anything to the memory but rather to the
storage card - fearing system performance issues. I don't yet know if
this was a legitimate concern. Conversely, I believe the performance of
the app may suffer when it is installed to the storage card. What
theory is correct?
