iPAQ rx 1950 and ActiveSync problems

Hi,

I have an iPAQ rx1950 with Win Mobile 5.0 and AC 4.2.0, and Outlook 2002 SP3. My system is Win 2K Pro SP 4, and all Win Updates.
Other system operations are fine, as are internet connections.

Syncing by USB has been intermittent, with the last one being Oct 26. I've turned Sygate firewall off before syncing, but it doesn't help.

Both failed and successful syncs end by showing the following window on the PDA:
"Pocket PC Networking: Unable to obtain a server-assigned IP address. Try again later or enter an IP address in Network settings. OK."

Help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Dugie
