Hello,
I have been trying for about a week now to get music streaming from from a
twonky media server (or another server) to my HP6915. (Wireless)
Are you sure you have the right web address for twonkyvision ?
It has to match exactly, or you'll get a 404 (file not found) error.
So the first things to check are :
Can you see the twonkyvision pages from your local PC ? That would
confirm the web server is running, the database and PHP are enabled.
Did you open your firewall to accept connections from the HP6915 ?
Make sure to add it to the exceptions list from being blocked, as well
as ensuring port 80 can be accessed inside your network - most test
pages use Localhost address 127.0.0.1 which is only valid *within*
your PC and isn't an IP address which you can connect to.
It's not related to Activesync being able to connect using USB cable,
because the HP has a real IP address when it connects over wireless -
so that has to be passed through by your firewall.
I have downloaded a lot of Media players but cannot get them to connect, or
even find an option to connect to a uPNP media server.
One feature that Twonky does have, it generates RSS for the albums, does
anybody know of some sofware i can use to play them from the source (Rather
than downloading them like a podcast?)
No, that's not a lot of use because then you're complicating things by
adding another format the PPC has to read ;-)
Just try to connect first to twonkyvision in IE or better, Opera from
the PDA- if you can see the web pages there's a connection there which
the media players can use.
If anybody has managed to get a setup like this running, please could you
let me know the software and solution you have?
Dunno - I have an NLSU running mt-daapd because it's way lighter than
a PHP+DB mix on such a small device...
