MP3 Ringtone not working after installing another MP3 Player

I have T-Mobile MDA. My problem is once install 3rd party MP3 player then
my MP3 ringtone stops working. This happened before the system upgrade and
after. Any suggestion? Also with new system upgrade will I be able to MP3
for Alarms or I still have to use .wav files?
