Re: On "awaken" Pocket PC stays on

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Not knowingly but I did replace the BIOS with ROM Revision 1.10.03 ENG of 07/16/04 which was advertised to solve the problem. After that I had to re-install all programs. I have been running WorldMate 2004 Standard Edition v5.1.0 from MobiMate.com and I suspect it.

I appreciate your comments,

There are some programs that attempt to fix "Alarm" problems in pocket PCs
that alter how the Pocket PC responds to an awaken condition. Any chance you
ever ran a program like that? If you haven't loaded any drivers for new
hardware you've added. And you don't have a program set to auto run on a
reboot, my guess is your registry is corrupt, you'll need to hard reset, and
then re-install all your programs, not restore.

I only use ActiveSync 3.8 in the cradle with USB connection or with Blue
Tooth connection and the choices for syncing are Continuous and Upon
Connection. Tried changing from Continuous but the result was the same.

Ant other ideas from anybody?

Thanks. I did a soft reset then turned the PDA off. When a notice

When it would not shut off, I did a soft reset and the notice remained

Not sure exactly what sequence you are recommending. I may try to
start removing programs to see what effect this has.

Something crazy to check- go into your e-mail settings (if you have any
POP or IMAP accounts defined) and check if they are set to retrieve e-
mail every 1 or 2 minutes. This would prevent the device from shutting
off!

You could also check Activesync (on the device) and see if it's set to
sync on a schedule (although I think the minimum setting is 5 minutes,
which would still allow the unit to sleep in two minutes.)
