While it is questionable if there is anything to worry about today, I
believe it's just a question of time. Do you wish to be proactive, or
simply reactive and wait till your PocketPC is compromised? You might want
to take a look at
http://www.airscanner.com/downloads/firewall/firewall.html With it's
logging ability I have found it useful in diagnosing connection problems
as well.

Why would you even asume that a firewall that is available now (when the
threat is not exactly here now) will be of any practical security later when
any threats actually do materialize? It is like digging a moat for
protection, not knowing if the invaders can swim. Doing so is a blind
measure that may not address the actual problems.

There have been many cases where a firewall simply did not provide the
protection required, thanks to port reuse. Some common items such as buffer
overrun within OE was actually done through a commonly open port in a
firewall.

Get the facts straight - don't assume that a paranoid kneejerk is going to
offer any measure of protection without understanding the threat.

..02, given (too?) freely. :)

P.S. - Are you preparing for the alien invasion as well, or are you just
going to wait until they start taking over? Quick, everyone grab their foil
hats...
