My next test would be to create (or find) a file or series of files
that will fill up your CF card. Delete whatever's on it, and copy
files over to it till it fills up. Then, using a new PC that's never
seen these files before, copy them off of the card. Compare these two
set of files, and see if they differ. My bet is they will.

Tried it, just to be sure, the files came back identical.
