This really makes me think you have a CF card that's on its way out.
I understand you're not seeing file copy failures to this CF card 100%
of the time, but when they start to fail, they do fail in odd ways.
If that is the case, how come the CF card ALWAYS works in another Dell
X51v with different firmware and in my Compact Flash reader without any
problems?
I understand my post was a bit long but the key points are:
1) The card never fails a copy operation when I use it in my CF reader
2) The card never fails a copy operation with Activesync when I use it
in my friends Dell X51v, same model PDA, but different firmware
3) The card never fails a copy operation when I use the third party
cardexport tool with my PDA
4) Before I flashed the device, I never had any problems using the card
5) Whenever I write a file to this card using Activesync on my PDA it
ALWAYS comes back with the wrong checksum. Not intermittently, EVERY
copy operation results in a garbled file.
So basically I've tried the card in 2 other devices and in my device but
using a third party utility and it always works, but when Activesync
comes into the equation it fails.
I've also tried reformatting the card, it reformatted without any
errors, but files are still corrupted if I use activesync on my (A12) Axim
.
