Hi John,

Could you backup your contacts first (create a new folder and copy the
contacts into them) and then give this a try -
http://www.pocketpcfaq.com/raj/FileAs.html

When you say - If you enter just a company name and that company name is the
file as, then it displays as (Company Name).. are you entering the
information on the device or on the computer?

I have a Verizon Pocket PC with Mobile 5.0 I am having problems with the
way the address book sorts on my device. If you enter just a company name
and that company name is the file as, then it displays as (Company Name).
Which pushes these items to the top of my address book. If you enter a
company name and a contact name, but leave the file as with just company
name, then it fails to put the ( ) around the company name.

Therefore, any contact records that don't have a contact sort at the top
of the address book and anyone that has a person listed files
alphabetically, even though the name is not listed in the file as.

I guess my question is, how can I get the ( ) to be removed from those
contact records that do not list a persons name? Alternatively, how do I
get those companies that have a contact name to sort with ( ) as the
company name?

Does that make sense?

Thanks,
