That makes sense... thanks... My home PC doesn't have problems with the
server and the WMV files, though.. I guess IE for my desktop is a
little smarter than the one for my phone on WM5...

That's because the web server sending the content is incorrectly set
up, it should send a header of application/x-ms-wmv to identify that
it's windows media video. As it isn't, and it's not under your
control, there's not a lot you can do but contact the webmaster of the
site and have them set up their server correctly.
