where are you microsoft? why still no wifi activesync 4??

as of late, with so much focus on the delays of windows vista... there
has been so much talk, especially on microsoft's part about how they
always have their ear to the customer's needs. theyre out listening to
every bit of feedback they can. they want to release a fine and solid
product. sure.. sounds great. i mostly believe it, a fine group of
developers...
SO WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED WITH THE ACTIVESYNC TEAM?!?
where are you??? all i can find for reason to disable network syncing
over activesync to regular pcs (not exchange) is "security" reasons.
somebody please tell me if im just all wrong on this and there is more
of a security risk here than a bunch of open TCP ports... (never mind
that server products also have the necessity to keep open ports like
activesync would need this feature.)
if thats all it is, ok then fine.. its a security risk. SO LET ME
DECIDE WHETHER I WANNA TAKE THAT RISK!! how many times have i seen
dialog boxes along the lines of "Only proceed if you understand the
risks involved."
i have not heard of one single person who is actually happy that this
feature was taken out and feels oh so much safer for it. how can
microsoft seriously punish its users like this?
the other thing i read was that the decision was made because deadlines
had to be met, and the security threat couldnt be fixed in time. ok
fine... deadlines were met, its been what, a year now?? FIX IT! did you
give up on it because you forgot or something??
im sure a good number of people have gotten used to using bluetooth to
sync instead of their wifi. so the complaining user base has probably
dwindled down quite a bit im sure. that isnt an option for everybody...
why does microsoft hate those people?
i just really fail to see how hard it is to make all this an option for
the user. set it to be disabled by default...
windows xp itself comes with software which leaves open ports... remote
desktop?? hello?!? why wasnt that removed for "security reasons".
then again like i said earlier.. maybe im all wrong about this.. and
there some other secrity risk that im not realizing here.. someone
enlighten me.
or better yet.. tell me why microsoft doesnt care to provide a solution
to this...
