isn't true - it even changes over hard resets and can freely be loaded.

Of course, I may be wrong. Up until now, however, I've never seen *any*
problems arising from cloning a PPC this way. Again, as opposed to what

Well, software that is specific for USB host capable PPCs and Phone Edition
versions will probably not work as intended on non-compatible hardware and
could even have unpredictable results (lockups come to mind). Also a cloned
image that simply loads too much into memory for a less memory-capable
machine would also cause issues.

I agree that it is not a real problem, it just may not be the results
expecting in every case.
