If your watchguard is setup for IPsec you can use a IPsec client llike
Bluefire to connect. I actually need to find a resolution for this issue
because it is causing a lot of problems for me to administer servers a
clients location.

Thanks for the reply Eric. Even though it is not the answer I was hoping
for, at least I know that it is not something I am doing wrong.

Before my Treo 700w, I had a Kyocera 7135 running the Palm OS. I purchased
the Mergic VPN client for Palm OS and the PPTP connection to my Watchguard
worked flawlessly using this client. Unfortunately, Mergic does not have a
VPN client for Windows Mobile.

I am going to try some other VPN clients for Windows Mobile and will post
here if I have any successess.

Thanks again!

John.

This is a known issue with watchguard firewalls. I have a watchguard
firewall that also has the same problem. I can't even get the watchguard
to do ipsec to my isa 2004 firewall.

Hello,

I am trying to make a VPN connection from my Treo 700w to my Watchguard
Firebox to access systems on my office network. The Windows Mobile 5.0
PPTP VPN paramaters seem pretty straight forward - just like in Windows
XP.

I can make a Windows XP PPTP VPN connection to Watchguard firebox with
no problems. When I used the same settings for the Treo 700w, I can
establish the VPN connection with my Watchguard firebox, but then one of
two things happens when I try to use the tunnel (neither good :-).
Either no traffic passes thru the tunnel and the tunnel continues to
stay up, or the tunnel disconnects as soon as I try to use it.

I have seen a couple of postings elsewhere on the internet describing
this problem, but have never found a solution.

Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks!

John.
