Re: Connecting to the internet.

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

I thought all the X51v's had a wireless card. It would be the X51 basic
units that don't.

BTW, to the OP, you can also check out www.aximsite.com for forums more
dedicated to the Axim's.

WRT the wireless question, on my X51v, when I go to
Settings->Connections->Network Cards, I see a schwak of adapters listed,
including "Dell Axim X51 WLAN Wireless Adapter". You should also see a Dell
WLAN Utility on that Connections tab. Do you already have a wireless
network at home?

As far as getting a network connection when you're connected via USB to your
computer, just try opening up Internet Explorer, and browsing from there.
You shouldn't need a phone number or anything else.

Hello,

If you have your device connected to your PC via ActiveSync, your device
can use it to connect to the Internet using your PCs connection.

Some of the x51v's don't have a wireless card built into it. This can be
purchased separately.

Hope this helps,

Hello. I am a total noob with my Axiom X51v. This is the first handheld
I
have ever bought and I have some questions about how to get it to connect
to
the internet. I've read the manual and looked through the little help
guide
on the PDA itself and I seem to be making it more difficult than it needs
to
be. First, I cannot for the life of me find what my ISP server phone #
or
access point is for the DSL connection on my home computer. Where do I
find
this information? Looking under the connections tab under Internet
Options
tells me nothing. Do I need to call my ISP and have them give me that
information?

Second, I've found conflicting sources on whether I will need a wirless
card
for my PDA or not. My PDA says it has 3 types already installed
(Bluetooth,
Generic IrDA and Hayes compatible on COM1) but I don't know which one to
pick
if any. Is there a recommendation for which is better and whether I need
to
buy one or not? What's the difference between them?

I hate asking noobish q's, especially when it's probably very simple and
I'm
just missing it so thanks in advance for the help! :)
