What in the world have you got? My iPaqs have all come with a wall wart and
an adapter to mate it with the iPAQ. Then there generally has been a cradle,
with a USB cable and a connector that accepted the wall wart coaxial power
connector. I have on occasion received a USB cable with an iPAQ connector
on it that could charge from a USB port, or a wall wart/car charger with a
USB socket.

I have in my possession a relatively old and unique cable that has an iPAQ
connector, and both a USB and a serial plug at the other end. That one also
has a socket at the iPAQ end to accept a wall wart cable for power. It was
not a standard item though.

What have you got? USB to iPAQ connector? That should charge from the USB
port. If it adds a socket for the wall wart, that should make it charge
faster if you use it. It should also work fine if you get one of the
multitude of PPC spec'd wall warts that have a USB socket on them.

It is a USB cable, into which you must plug an AUXILIARY cable to
charge the device.

But, you recharge the device far more often, and certainly in far more
locations, than you sync it at the SINGLE location of your desktop.

So they make you lug two cables around just to recharge the thing in
wall sockets throughout Western civilization as we know it today.

I mean, HUH?

Does HP or someone make a cable with that logic reversed, or better, a
recharge-only cable?
