Excel Mobile forces duplicate file creation in another location.

This is a follow-on to the preceding post, "WM5 apps cannot access
files on your PPC.".
If you port an XLS file from your desktop to a WM5 folder that is NOT
an immediate subfolder of My Documents, you then CANNOT EXIT Excel
without creating a DUPLICATE file in another location, leading to
dangerous user confusion.
I had said Excel's "file view" could not access any file in a folder
two or more levels below My Documents. Turns out SAVE AS is also
crippled.
After loading a newly-ported XLS file into Excel for the first time,
then on exit you are warned you may lose some desktop features. Fine.
However, on user confirmation, instead of being given the choice of
File Save or Save As, you are obliged to Save As.
But the Save As dialog has not only FORGOTTEN the source path, you are
forced to save the file in a level-1 folder. Now you have two files
with similar names in two locations.
Worse, if the files have long-ish names, you MAY NOT BE ABLE TO SEE
THEM IN FULL, due to the seeming inability to widen display rows in
either Excel file view or File Explorer. (Separate thread on that.)
If both filenames begin with the same chars., you MAY NOT BE ABLE TO
DISCRIMINATE their names from each other.
Yet further confusion arises if you allow Excel's crippled File View to
keep running, in which case you are presented with a file view
different from File Explorer's, and wrong.
You had better kill Excel file view immediately, launch File Explorer,
delete the original file residing in the correct location, then move
the new file to take its place.
Rhetorical question: THIS is Windows Mobile 5?

Meanwhile, I neglected to mention that if you open an XLS residing in
one of these lower folders, edit, then exit, you will find that Excel
HAS saved your edited file back to its CORRECT location.
Meaning that with parts of Microsoft WM5, the right hand seems to have
no idea what the left hand is doing.
