Re: Motorola MPx300

These files are in ROM, not RAM and don't do anything that I can tell. So
basically .. is there any way to delete ROM? Its not possible, right?

Without having access to the particular device, a generic answer: you can,
in general, freely delete anything that is in RAM; that is, deletable.
RAM-based ringtones are like this. Just make sure you make a backup before
doing this so that you can restore your previous state if you delete
something vital.

Not sure where to post this, so I will try a few NG's. I will also check
them all so it will help if you tell me in which group my posts belong.
I have the Motorola MPx300 phone. Running Windows Mobile 2003 Second
Edition v 4.21.1088 [build 14342.2.5.0] The ppc tells me that I have 27
megs approx. and 17 megs en flash memory. I have a storage card where I
store almost everything.

When I run Media player for example, I get an error 'not enough memory to
....' when nothing else is running.

So I looked at what I have free and that is only about 8 megs. I opened
file explorer and find lots of files that don't seem to be associated
with anything. Files such as 'bobbleheads' And there are lots of them.
Also there are a bunch that say 'Fun Clips.' And others With the word
'occasions.' Some of these have dupes. the are in rom and I cant delete
them.

I have updated the rom and I cant help but wonder if the files from the
original setup get removed or? Basically I am just curious as to why I
have not enough memory to do the simple thing like run media player etc.
Unfortunately I can't even check with motorola because this is not a
supported device.
