I can confirm through the router admin that both devices can connect
to the router wirelessly but I don't know how to configure the
devices
so they see each other.
Does anyone know what I should do?

You may already be set, it depends on whether you already are aware of
the following points or not.

Point 1 - They can't see *each other* - while the PDA should be able
to browse shared folders on the PC, the PC cannot see the PDA. That's
by design.

Point 2 - You have to give the PDA a UNC path, there's no equivalent
of "Computers near me". So if the network name of your laptop is
"steveslaptop" for example, then you would go into file explorer,
click "open", type "\\steveslaptop", then you would be presented with
a list of shared folders on steveslaptop.

Point 3 - once you get to this point (assuming you actually have some
shared folders on your laptop, and everything else is working right),
you'll probably quite reasonably try and open a file in a shared
folder on your laptop from your PDA. Well surprise, that won't work -
the built in file explorer will let you copy and paste files between
your device and network shares, but not open them directly. At this
point you want to investigate a replacement file explorer such as
Total Commander (free) or Resco Explorer ($$).

Can't help you with the GPRS stuff, my device isn't a phone.
