Hi Nick,
I have a 2755, which is basically the same unit that you have. I did the
WM5 upgrade when it 1st came out and it a little slower than WM2003Se but I
could live with that. The showstopper for me was that at the time Sprite
backup wasn't WM5 compliant, they finally cam out with a "workable" version
but it didn't play well with the credant security software that the Hx27xx
series uses. Keep in mind that the WM5 install disk has a "Downgrade"
option under additional software, so it's fairly easy to rollback. The
best advice I can give you since the reviews are all over the map on this
topic is to do a FULL backup of the device while using WM2003Se and save it
to external (SD or CF) memory . Try WM5 for yourself and see how you like
it, it'll take you a while to config the new OS so give it a week or two.
You can roll back to 2003Se in less than an hour by "downgrading" to 2003Se
and then just install Sprite backup and do the restore.
Good Luck

I have an HP iPAQ 2750 running WM2003. I have just got the HP upgrade disk
for Mobile 5. Before i install I want to check whether people think it's
worth making the upgrade. If it is are there any pitfall that I should be
aware of in the upgrade process? Thanks Nick
.
