Axim x5 and Louts Notes

Hi. I have a personal axim x5 and I now work for a company that uses
lotus notes. If I install activesync on my work laptop, can I sync
lotus and the my x5 (and if so using what software or download)? Or is
it only compatible with outlook?

So, if there is software to connect my pocket pc with lotus notes, what
is it and where can i download it?

Also, the infrared capability on the axim...what is it for? Is it for
wireless internet connection?
