I've also heard the MS BT stack doesn't support *some* BT phones (the DUN
service of the vast majority of BT phones *is* supported) - what exactly is
the model?
As far as backing up your device is concerned, there're two choices, as
Clinton has already pointed out - Sprite and Spb Backup. Do *not* use the
built-in backup app or the Sunnysoft one. Please note that I've written a
very thorough and detailed comparison of Sprite and Spb Backup; it's
available at

I'm new to wm 5; I have a dell axim x51v and need to be able to do DUN
over bluetooth, which the current bluetooth stack just won't do.
There are numerous posts on a new bluetooth stack that can be used to
replace the original. I really have to try this as my pda is currently
as useless as a bicycle without pedals.
Therefore what I'm after is a way to absolutely guarantee that if it
all goes horribly wrong, what sort of backup would get me back to where
I started? So far the data backup program within the axim has been good
enough to recover after installing buggy software. Can I rely on it to
backup the bluetooth stack? Is the bluetooth stack replaced by a hard
reset?
If I need some other backup program, can anybody recommend one to me
please. I tried spb clone that I used to use for win 2003 but it
crashes my axim (WM5) so that isn't an option.
I'd really, really appreciate any advice, big or small as this is a
massive thing for me to be thinking about doing on my new machine!
Greg.
