As Bev would probably say MS S&T is the best bang for your buck if you can
use a normal map. It has street lookup and can work with your address book.
BT GPS seems to be the way to go as it doesn't drain the battery of the PDA
and can be located in the best location for a fix and the PDA in the best
position for viewing.

Most likely no. There actually are a couple of PPCs (Toshiba?, LOOX) that
do have a USB HOST port. Most all PPCs have USB ports, but they are
clients, just as a USB GPS would be. You can't hook a client to a client.
The catch is that the PPC with host USB port, would also have to have the
right driver to be able to see that USB GPS. That may be a significant
issue, as USB drivers are built by the OEM of the device, and if that
manufacturer didn't think to make a PPC driver (and why would he), you are
SOL.
There are also Host USB CF cards that can be had for PPCs and they do
support a number of relatively standard peripherals, but again, getting
the right driver for your particular GPS, could be an issue. Before you go
asking for a source for these CF cards, let me tell you they are around
$150, for which you can get a BT GPS.

Hi Rob,
Is there an adapter or something by which I would be able to plug in the
GPS
device which is normally meant for the USB port to the pocket PC. This is
because I have not seen a pocket PC with a USB port.
Would you know which one will work?
Thanks in advance.

And keep in mind MS S&T (any version) will not do door-to-door,
it's just a map with a 'you are here' icon.

1. you can't run it under Palm OS.
2. MS Streets runs on any Pocket PC. MS Streets 2005 runs on even old
MIPS/SH3 PPC2k devices; MS Streets 2005 requires at least PPC2k2
PC's.
If you also want to use a GPS unit, let us know whether it's
Bluetooth-,
serial- or CF-based. In general, you can connect any GPS units to even
the
oldest Pocket PC's.

Hello All,
I was just wondering if I can install and use MS Streets and Trips on
my
Palm Treo 600? If not, Can you please recommend me which Pocket PC or
a
handheld PDA would be suggested to use with MS Streets and Trips with
the
GPS
locator?
Your answer is really appreciated.
Thank you.
