Yes,a though question - VGA devices with excellent screens are more
expensive than "cheap" models like the x51v.
If you plan to use your PDA a lot in landscape mode, going for a non-Dell
model may still be preferable. A lot of people are suffering from the
polarization problems of the Dell in Landscape mode. What I say is loan a
Dell for a day or two, use it in Landscape for Web browsing and stuff and if
your head starts hurting, then, don't get the device. It's all dependent on
the particular person.
Other than the polarization problem in Landscape, teh Dell screen is pretty
washed-out but that's not as big a problem as the bad polarization
distribution.

I went out looking for the Fujitsu models in local shops since I heard
the same as you're indicating - that the quality of the screen display
is excellent. But I can't find anyone in my area (Southern
California) who carries the Fujitsu line of the pocket pc.
Not sure how much it costs, either. I was considering the N560 or
C550. The HP hx4700 is starting to get a little out of the price
range I'm considering since I won't be a heavy user. I can get a
notebook around those prices and although not the convenience of
portability, I'm sure going to get a lot more for the buck once I
start hitting those prices. So if the Fujitsu is in that price
bracket, I'd rather stick with the Dell x51v or HP iPaq 2790.

The iPAQ's indeed have a better screen - but they're QVGA only. That is,
it's pretty hard to decide which device is better. (The Dell screens are
really weakto be used in Landscape - please read

on this.)
BTW, what I really recommend is Fujitsu-Siemens VGA models or the HP
hx4700. Their screen quality (including Landscape usability) is really
excellent.

Well, you've helped me narrow my research down to the Dell x51v or the
HP iPaq 2790. I've seen iPaq screens and they're pretty brilliant
compared to others. From reading about both devices online, looks
like although the Dell has the higher resolution, the iPaq may have a
better overall display which really puts them both neck and neck in my
race. I haven't seen a Dell on display so I'll have to go check those
out next.

mirroring,Everything depends on your needs. If you want fast screen
go for Intel 2700G-based solutions (x51v, x51v).
What's the difference between the two?
One is really an x51, and one is a typo of x50 ;)
