Re: Qusnetsoft suddenly unregistered

No change. Perhaps this oddity might be important. Every time I try to
open the program for the first time, there's a prompt;

This mail folder is locked by 'WM_TS_Mathews1'. Would you like to continue?

If I click yes, the program opens and appears to work except that, as I
said, it only get messages if I'm actually connected to the cradle.

I did nothing intentionally to "lock" the program. That "locked by" name is
only from my activesync profile and never used for anything by me. Is there
some way to "unlock" the program and did I somehow inadvertently lock it?

1, you mean you only receive the headers but not the messages themselves?
That's the default config - just go to the Advanced tab in
Tool/Account/Properties and choose NNTP All.

2, as far as the tutorial is concerned, dunno yet. I'm really busy.

Thanks...that one worked but I'm beginning to feel really stupid. It

done
a sync, tried receive, looked under headers, messages, literally
everywhere
I can think of where one might tell the program to download the
messages but
am at a loss to do it. I hate being a complete idiot again but I must
ask,
how in the heck does one get the messages to the PDA?

AND, more important, when are you gonna have that manual done you
mentioned
you were preparing? ;-)

1. fire up File Explorer on the PPC; go to the Qmail dir
2, tap and hold the EXE file
3, go to the \Windows\Start Menu\Programs direrctory; tap-andphold an
empty area
4, choose Paste Shortcut from the context menu

Now for the next question...although I may not have the correct
terminology.
In the setup you mentioned somehow making it (meaning the program)
show
up
on the start menu. I can't seem to figure it out as it doesn't show
up
as a
"program." The only way I've been able to launch it is to use file
explorer
and click on q3u in my qmail folder.

In the header list view, Tool/Options; choose Message in the
drop-
doiwn
list; check in the Word wrap checkbox in here. (You don't need to
also
switch to the pre-defined word warp radio button - it may stay at
the
default.

Thanks Werner, I tried it but couldn't seem to format it...hard to
describe
but it's as though there's no word wrap. I've looked at any and
everything
I can find within the program to see if I've got something set
wrong
but
I've had no luck in making the change Other than this, I like it,

based on
a day or two of trying it.

Is there some secret to getting it not to break lines in the
middle
of
words?

Thanks again,
Tim

Qmail. It's free and just great. Just using it to post this
answer.
Please use the search facility in my blog to find the article on
using it
with NNTP newsgroups.

In the meantime, can anyone suggest a decent newsreader program
