Do you really mean that i have to buy a device for my pc to format a drive for my phone?? Isn't there a command I can run on the phone, it asked itself to format the card when I initially inserted it so the command must be in there some where...

The easiest way to do this is to purchase a seperate card reader that connects to your PC then reformat it from your desktop PC.
