Re: Optimize file

Werner:

Wouldn't this be triggered by the "don't want to pay
royalties to Unisys for their 'patent' on .TIF compression"
problem?

If he xfers the file directly, it won't open on the PPC
due to no support in the .DLL necessary (unless he's
installed an imaging app that can handle it).

Transfer the file by hand, not via automatic synchronization, to avoid
this.
Use for example the WinCE FS plug-in in Total Commander (see the tutorial
at
http://pocketpcmag.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=15577 on its set-up and
usage) to do so. (Also read my article on these subjects and the problems
auto-conversion may cause at

interested.)

I'm synching my Ipaq HX2495 with the desktop, I get an error saying
that when I click on it asks if I want to optimize the file for
ppc. What should I tell it? (It is a TIF file, ironically this
one TIF file trips the error but a number of them don't. Why?)

(The TIF file is for use with Imagineer.)
