Although this is generally true, there are ways around it. In fact, I stream
music to my
PPC (Qtek s100) over bluetooth regularly. The way I do this is by
establishing a
network connection (using the activesync over bluetooth link) and then
either:
- use the webbrowser to find an internet radio station and stream to
mediaplayer
- or use windows media encoder (free download from microsoft) on my PC
(windows XP) and open the stream directly from the PPC mediaplayer using
the
PC ip address and port number as defined in media encoder.

Bluetooth has indeed a lower datarate than WiFi (723kbps max), but for MP3
and similar audio streams, this is plenty. And if you use an IP network
link, then it
supports it as well as a WiFi link - which is to say, you will use the IP
network in
a way for which it wasn't intended or designed, and at which it isn't
particularly
good, but it will do a reasonable job nevertheless.

One advantage of BT over WiFi is that it typically uses a lot less power on
the
PPC side.
