Hi guys, just got the TomTom Navigator 5 installed last night and
wanted to update you on some things.
I own an iPAQ H4150.
The software has surpassed my expectation because of both its ease of
use as well as its graphics and info displayed. The only thing that
seems a bit weird is that last night I was driving around, this thing
knew all the very small streets, but today when I drove to work, as I
hit major intersections, instead of having the name of the street it
was displaying the street number. Some major streets also have numbers
such as Major Mac (47) or Eglin Mills (25). I live in a suburb of
Toronto, ON. So I was a bit disapointed about that, but it's really no
big deal.
I was wondering how the sound might be and whether or not I need a
powered speaker. I have to tell you that with the volume at max both on
the PDA and TTN5 I can hear everything very well under normal driving
conditions (windows closed). As I have seen this mentioned on some
posts, I have to tell you that I have not experienced any sound
distorsion.
The BT GPS unit was able to get a good signal even on the middle of the
back sit, so it does not need to be sitting on the dashboard, which is
good.
I have a question though. I have only loaded one map, ON+QC and have
gotten the code for it by going to ttcode.com. What happens if I need
to add another map? Do I need to get another code for each map I add or
at this time I can add any map which comes with the North America CDs?
Thanks,
Cristian
